How the ESA Process Works

Current IEP

Step 2: Receive Approval
Once your application is reviewed and approved, your student is enrolled in the ESA program, and funding becomes available according to the state’s funding schedule. Remember that you must accept the scholarship and withdraw your child from their local district or charter school. Students cannot be dually enrolled in a public school AND receive the ESA.
Step 3: Keep Records
Parents are responsible for using ESA funds appropriately and maintaining documentation of educational expenses. Keeping organized records throughout the year makes the process much easier.
Step 4: Choose Your Educational Services
Families can then use ESA funds for approved educational expenses, including tuition at participating private schools like AZ Aspire Academy. This part can be daunting and overwhelming with so many choices.
